Museums in Taiwan finally reopened when level 3 restrictions were downgraded to somewhere between levels 3 and 2, but the maximum capacity was severely reduced, so it took a couple months to finally score tickets to the wildly popular Shiota Chiharu exhibit at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. This was the largest exhibition devoted to the Japanese-born, Berlin-based artist exploring the “emotional stirrings of the heart that cannot be put into words.” The large-scale installations are made of strings of varying colors and lengths, and the emotional impact of the works is surprising once viewed in person. I’ll let the photos do the talking.
